With the great amount of success the Oklahoma medical marijuana industry has been seeing, it should come as no surprise there are a few road bumps along the way. With that being said, this particular problem seems to happen to us all sometimes. For example, we are diligently working away on our computers when the internet goes down or a piece of software freezes and we are forced to slow down with our work. This problem has even been affecting the budding Oklahoma medical marijuana industry. According to a local news station, KOCO reported that the system required by Oklahoma medical marijuana businesses to track medical marijuana product sales has been temporarily seeing downtime recently. This technical error can cause a logistical challenge for storefronts who are required to verify the medical marijuana status of each patient before completing a sale. According to KOCO, “Tony Sellars with the Department of Health explains the most recent outage caused by the state’s IT group. He says there was an issue with a server during scheduled maintenance.” While this is a typical problem with technology, it certainly will need a solution to ensure patients can be served their medical marijuana when they need it.

All and all, April was an extremely wonderful month for the Oklahoma medical marijuana industry. The industry saw a huge jump in medical marijuana sales which is a fantastic trend to see for a busy month in the cannabis sector. Furthermore, the state continues to grapple with the growing cannabis industry here in Oklahoma and we can only hope they find solutions for technological errors which are bound to happen from time to time.
